When I first started learning the zentangle art, I would focus on one pattern at a time. A few samples of my practice pages.
This was my first full page design. This was also before I realized that you start with a "string" first and then tangle in each area. I was really just goofing around with the circle patterns first then began to draw the pattern behind it after the fact. It turned out to be a fun design. Mom says it looks like an afgan to her ... I lean more toward a martian.

This is probably my favorite tangle so far. I just love the basket weave pattern. It's so easy to draw ... fun to draw .... and I love the way it looks.
I haven't completed this one yet, but I hit an artist block. It's still fun. I really like my little wormie looking creatures.
Again, not yet finished with this one, but wanted to share it anyway. These are all patterns I got right off of the zentangle website, but I'm beginning to put my own twists on them and feeling more comfortable with creating my own tangles.
